Introducing WeLove's collaboration with Salon Sustainability
WELOVE has announced an official collaboration with Salon Sustainability to complement its sustainability initiatives across the ocean, trees, communities, recycling and more. WELOVE and Salon Sustainability are two of the most sustainable hair brands collaborating to empower each other and the industry
Rae Palmer says, “Sustainability is one of the pillars we insist on to recommend brands to our collective, and while the UK is looked to as leaders in creative hairdressing, we haven’t traditionally led the way in sustainability. With the environment in crisis, we believe it’s time for all salons to take responsibility – however, brands must play a part in that. As a salon owner himself, it made sense for us to partner with JC and Salon Sustainability.”

Salon Sustainability is providing recycling bins to all epiic stockists, paid for by WELOVE, and all the plastic collected is recycled into salon equipment to go back to salons – a perfect sustainability circle.
Both WELOVE and Salon Sustainability work with Enham Trust, a charity based in Hampshire that helps disabled people to live, work and enjoy life to the full as independently as possible.
Jessica Dent
The additional sustainability measures that WELOVE put in place with their brands is what helped to secure their accolade of Highly Commended in the Marie Claire Sustainability Awards, Most Ocean Friendly Brand - the only haircare brand in the category.
The sustainability story behind epiic is what salon owner Jessica Dent of Jessica's Hair & Beauty in Swindon credits with a retail upturn of 11%! She says, "Clients just love the ethics of epiic, they want to have spaquality products for their hair without compromising on sustainability. They really engage with scanning the barcode to see where the plastic is being collected and because Salon Sustainability makes videos of the epiic bottles being recycled that we can share, our clients are really keen to bring the bottles back and put them in the recycling bin, meaning we get more visits and retail sales.

"The marketing materials we display with images of the turtles in the sea really help clients make the connection between their products and the environment, and for every epiic bag we sell all the profit is donated to the Marine Conservation Society."
